On Accepting Change

MEDITATE

All that changes is temporary, unreal. The permanent is Holy and Good, the divine Alpha and Omega.

EXERCISE

Put in perspective all the things you devote your life too and make a “laundry list.” All you see, touch and experience is temporary. Your list may look something like this:

My career - temporary
My car - temporary
My dog - temporary
My schedule - temporary
My wardrobe - temporary
My bank account - temporary
My heartbreak - temporary
My football game - temporary
My sadness - temporary
My frustration - temporary
My bills - temporary
My education - temporary
My business - temporary
My body - temporary
My family life - temporary
My love for humanity - ETERNAL
My union with God - ETERNAL
God’s love for me - ETERNAL

God bless,

On Emotions

MEDITATE

Sometimes negative emotions are like a herd of wild buffalo. Once on a rampage each will follow the other aimlessly running in full throttle . Take control of them or they will dictate every decision you make. If you live to satisfy your emotions, they will surely never repay your generosity.

EXERCISE

Observe and acknowledge the stirrings of your negative feelings throughout the day. Pay attention to how anxiety likes to take a stroll in and out of your mind several times a day; anger likes to pop its dirty little head to catch you off-guard; and envy lives to destroy your happiness. These emotions are invisible, yet harmful and potentially deadly in extreme cases. They are invisible and you cannot imprison them so they don’t hurt you or others, but when you shed light on the shadows in your heart, they no longer have power over you. Most importantly, do not condemn yourself for subconsciously harboring these killers because you are not alone. Simply acknowledge them so you can consciously develop your courage to make a different choice.

May God bless you,
A.C.R.

On Your Purpose in Life

MEDITATE

At some point you may ask yourself, “what is the purpose of my existence?” The answer is simple and without exception, your Mission is to open your perspective and offer God’s love and forgiveness to those with whom you interact.

EXERCISE

At the start of your day, ask yourself, “How can I fulfill my Life Mission today? Who should I love more deeply? To whom should I offer forgiveness?” Start by loving and forgiving yourself, then continue with those who call you their enemy.

With love,

On Brothers and Sisters

MEDITATE

Show your appreciation to those who were chosen to share your life’s journey. Undoubtedly, our brothers and sisters complete us. With all that is good and bad, you are meant to learn from them, just as they have something to learn from you. You can also learn something from a sibling you haven’t seen or spoken to in years. It is a lesson in unconditional love.

EXERCISE

Reach out to your siblings. Call them when they least expect it. Stop by to visit. Invite them for lunch. Have a heart-to-heart conversation and reminisce about your childhood. You’ll be surprised at what you will learn. Share your fears. Ask for advice. Offer advice. Celebrate your differences. Seek your similarities. Tell them you love them.

May God bless you and your family,

A.C.R.

On Prayer

MEDITATE

Prayer is your spiritual lifeline. It’s more important than twittering, texting, or calling your best friends and family. It enhances your awareness of the Divine and opens the pipeline of communication between you and our Creator, God our Heavenly Father.

EXERCISE

Pray. Talk to God when you are in silence, driving, working, cooking, paying bills, at your desk, gardening, washing dishes, resting, playing…right now.

With love,
A.C.R.

On Adjusting to Change

MEDITATE

For better or worse, circumstances can and will change. Keep your thoughts and emotions steady. Steadiness is not without tears, however, it is without despair. Pull yourself from the chaos and confusion by becoming an “objective observer” of life.

EXERCISE

Visualize your life as a play on stage. You are sitting in a theatre watching the play’s events as they unfold. The characters are familiar - seeing your self, husband /wife, children, co-workers, parents, etc. You are intrigued by the twists in the plot and the reaction of each individual. You empathize with a kaleidoscope of emotions in every scene without being absorbed in the whirlwind. You are objective, an outsider- looking-in, unscathed by pain and sorrow (be cautious not to jump on-stage, keep your perspective up high). You are sitting in your seat feeling loved and safe in the presence of your eternal Guardian Angel who sits beside you. Quietly pray, “My Lord, all I see before me is temporary. Please carry me in your arms., embrace me with your Peace and shelter me from despair.”

God bless,
A.C.R

On Surrendering to God’s Love and Mercy

MEDITATE
Acknowledge His presence and feel Him carry you through every moment of your day, joyous , sorrowful or neutral. It is the perfect way to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression.

EXERCISE
Remember to breathe! Breathing is a precious gift. Stop what you are doing from time to time and take ten deep breathes. As you inhale, feel energy radiate from your chest to your fingertips. As you exhale, release the dark fog of your fears, doubts and anxieties. Say to yourself, “God, You are my life and peace. I love you my Lord.”

God bless,
A.C.R.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

We created this blog in our quest to help others in their day-to-day struggles - emotional, spiritual, financial and domestic, to name a few. We also aim to give practical advice and opinions , in the most loving way possible however imperfectly, using our life experiences, education, and lessons learned through personal challenges and suffering.

HOW THIS BLOG CAME ABOUT

Having offered our lives to God’s service, we asked ourselves , “How could we possibly repay the gifts with which God has blessed us?” We realized these are gifts not meant to be paid-back, but paid-forward. After time and prayer, we came to the conclusion that some may benefit if we shared advice through blogging. We will discuss issues that seem insignificant and often overlooked as well as those faced by nations.

A DEDICATION

We thank our Holy Father for His presence and the gift of our families during our sorrows and joys. Without the unconditional love and patience from our parents, brothers and sisters, we would not be who we are today. We dedicate anything “good” that may transpire from this project to our Holy Father, the Holy Family, as well as our parents, (my mom who is a single parent) all whom we adore with our entire being.

May God Bless You and Your Families,
A.C.R and P.C.K.
